SEO + GEO consultant: rank on Google and get cited by AI
SEO gets you ranking on Google. GEO gets you cited by ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. Both matter now, and I handle them together: structured content, entity authority, schema, llms.txt and a real AI citability strategy. The best proof: this site applies all of it to itself.

SEO and GEO are not the same, and you need both
SEO (Search Engine Optimization) optimizes your position in Google results: keywords, backlinks, technical health, clicks to your site. GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) optimizes something else: being retrieved, understood and cited by AI models when a user asks them a question.
More and more searches end without a click, inside an AI answer. If you only optimize for classic SEO, you gain rankings but disappear from AI answers. If you only do GEO, you exist in ChatGPT but lose Google traffic. Handling them together covers both surfaces where your customers search.
What I do concretely
On the technical and SEO side: crawlability, indexation, server-side rendering, Core Web Vitals, URL structure, internal linking, and clean JSON-LD schema (Organization, Person, Article, FAQ, Breadcrumb).
On the GEO side: content structuring for citability (direct answers, TL;DR, question-answer sections, data tables), entity authority (Wikidata, sameAs, consistent profiles), an llms.txt file, and controlled AI crawler access. The goal is twofold: that Google ranks you and that AI cites you as a reliable source.
Proof: this portfolio optimizes itself
I do not theorize GEO, I apply it to my own site and can show the results. This portfolio ranks first on its target queries, has a Wikidata entity linked via sameAs, seven JSON-LD schema types, an llms.txt file, and a structure built for AI citability.
That is the opposite of an agency promising without showing: you can audit my own site before trusting me with yours. I transpose exactly this method to your case. See also the freelance vs offshore agency comparison for how I work.
Who it is for and the expected outcome
It fits SaaS, founders and B2B content sites that want to exist in AI search before competitors settle in. GEO is a window: the ground is still lightly occupied, and taking it early pays.
Concretely, you gain two things: better Google positioning on your queries, and presence in the answers of ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews when a prospect asks a question in your category. I work in prioritized workstreams, starting with an audit that says what to do and in what order.
Method and pricing
I start with an SEO + GEO audit that measures the current state (technical, content, schema, authority, citability) and produces a prioritized action plan. We then execute the highest-impact workstreams first.
My day rate is €350, billed directly, with no middleman markup and a quote within 48h. I work remotely with clients in Europe and internationally. The work is documented and reproducible: you keep the method, not just the result.
SEO alone vs SEO + GEO
Optimizing only for Google is no longer enough when part of search ends in an AI answer. Here is what the combination adds.
| Criterion | SEO alone | SEO + GEO (my approach) |
|---|---|---|
| Surface covered | Google results (blue links) | Google + AI answers (ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews) |
| Zero-click searches | Invisible in the AI answer | Cited as a source in the answer |
| Signals worked | Keywords, backlinks | + schema, entity, llms.txt, citability |
| Current competition | Saturated for 20 years | GEO still lightly occupied, window open |
| Direct click traffic | Still the core of SEO | Kept, GEO adds on top |

SEO stays essential for click traffic. GEO adds presence in AI answers, where the ground is still open. Handling them together covers both surfaces where your customers search today.
Frequently asked questions
What is GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)?
It is optimization to be retrieved, understood and cited by generative AI engines (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews) when a user asks them a question. Where SEO targets ranking and clicks, GEO targets the citation inside the AI answer.
Should I drop SEO for GEO?
No. SEO remains the foundation of click traffic from Google. GEO adds on top to capture presence in AI answers. I handle them together because your customers now search on both surfaces.
How do I get cited by ChatGPT or Perplexity?
By combining structured content (direct answers, question-answer sections, tables), entity authority (Wikidata, sameAs, consistent profiles), clean JSON-LD schema, an llms.txt file and controlled AI crawler access. That is exactly the method I apply to my own site.
What proof of your results?
My own portfolio: first position on its target queries, a linked Wikidata entity, seven schema types, llms.txt, a structure built for citability. You can audit it before trusting me with your site.
How long until I see an effect?
Technical and structural fixes act within a few weeks on indexation and citability. Durable positioning builds over a few months, especially on a young domain. The starting audit prioritizes what gives the most effect the fastest.
