AI Automation Consultant for US Small Businesses

An AI automation consultant identifies a business process where automation can create a measurable result, then connects the data, software and human decisions required to operate it. The work is not limited to selecting an AI model. It includes workflow design, API integration, safeguards, deployment and measurement.

For a small business, that usually means improving a process already happening every day: qualifying incoming leads, preparing customer replies, extracting information from documents, updating a CRM, producing reports or routing requests to the right person.

The strongest first use case has a clear trigger, repeated steps and an owner who can confirm whether the output is correct. Examples include form-to-CRM qualification, support triage with human handoff, invoice or document extraction, appointment follow-up, sales research and weekly operational reporting.

I use n8n consulting and automation when a visual workflow is the right operational layer, custom APIs when an integration needs more control, and Next.js + Supabase when the team also needs an interface or internal application.

We begin with the current process: inputs, decisions, tools, exceptions, volume and cost of failure. I define a small first release and the metric it should improve, then build and test it with controlled data before connecting production accounts.

The workflow includes the unglamorous parts that make automation useful: duplicate prevention, retries, timeout handling, action logs, alerts and a manual path when confidence is low. Once the first workflow is stable, we decide from evidence whether another process deserves automation.

AI should not independently send a sensitive message, change financial data or update a critical record simply because a model produced an answer. I keep explicit human approval for high-impact actions and define what the system may do automatically.

Credentials stay outside workflow exports, access follows least privilege, and stored data is limited to what the process needs. For customer-facing systems, the design includes escalation, traceability and a clear way for a person to take over.

My standard international rate is $400 per day. A first engagement starts with a focused process review and a written scope. Depending on complexity, the first production workflow can then be delivered as a small fixed batch or on a day-rate basis when integrations still need discovery.

I work remotely from GMT+3 with planned overlap for US meetings and asynchronous delivery through written decisions, short updates and demonstrations. Larger programs requiring several simultaneous specialists remain a better fit for an agency.
